商業英文-Yahoo chief executive Scott Thompson steps down

The chief executive of tech firm Yahoo has stepped down amid accusations he included a fake computer science degree on his CV.

Scott Thompson was replaced by Yahoo's global media head Ross Levinsohn.
Yahoo shares rose 1.7% on Monday morning as news of the changes hit the trading floor.

Chinese President Hu Jintao has met the leaders of South Korea and Japan, as the three countries agreed to begin negotiations on a free-trade pact.

The leaders were meeting in Beijing for two days of trilateral talks.
Although tensions with North Korea were discussed on Sunday, there was no mention of it in a joint statement issued on Monday.
China is the biggest trading partner of both Japan and South Korea.

Facebook has set the share price for its upcoming initial public offering (IPO) at between $28 and $35 per share, valuing the company at between $85bn-$95bn (£52bn-£59bn).

The IPO is set to be the largest ever for an internet firm, bigger than Google's valuation of $23bn in 2004.

The official Purchasing Manager's Index (PMI) rose to 53.3 in April from 53.1 in March, the statistics bureau said.

商業英文閱讀-Samsung profits rise 81% boosted by smartphone sales

Samsung Electronics has reported its highest quarterly profit since 2008, boosted by smartphone sales and increased profitability at its display panel unit.

Net profit was 5.05tn won ($4.5bn; £2.8bn) in the quarter ending 31 March, up 81% from 2.78tn won last year.
The success of its Galaxy range had seen Samsung become the world's biggest-selling mobile phone maker.
Samsung is also the world's biggest TV and flat screen maker.
